On the road with Mykull..

Well, as most of you know I am on my way to Cincinnati with my friend and scholar, Michael Warren Rice.

Last night, after a fantastic football season came to an end when the Texas State Bobcats were defeated in overtime against Northern Iowa, I rushed back to my apartment to finish packing to head out for a week long excursion up to Ohio and back.

Michael's farewell party didn't wrap up as quickly as I think we would have hoped, but I guess what can you expect when you have 20 people you may never see again bidding you farewell. Tears were shed, laughter was had, songs were played, but I will let that be that. Goodbyes are always hard, and its tough to let go of someone you have come to love and who you've shared such good times together with. But hopefully we can all just be thankful for his life and not sad.

We made it up to Houston this morning at around 5:15am, not leaving San Marcos until about 2:30am (which is pretty good time considering). We will be staying the night here and leave early Sunday morning and probably spend a night somewhere in Tennessee, before making it to his parents house just north of Cincinnati.

I don't know what my expectations are. I am here for the experience, and to maybe learn a thing or two. I'll fill you guys in with details later.
